There's something for everyone at the Gimuy Fish Festival. From Dancing through to free food and kids activities. This Festival will be the place to be offering families and friends a great local experience.
This year three local restaurants will compete for this prestigious award and cook more the two hundred meals free of charge. Their challenge is to woo festival goers for their vote and become Gimuy's Top Chef.
This exciting project works in partnership with a number of Child Care Centres to create a new underwater world from recyclable materials. We encourage participation from all schools across Cairns.
Workshops will be offered to families on the day to create sea creatures from recyclable items to add to the interactive display.

Culture & Music
Yidinji dancers will entertain the community with an array of spectacular local song & dance. Gimuy have invited other Yidinji groups to come for a major dance off.
We also a proud host to many local bands and once again will feature more local acts in its bid to promote local home grown talent
If your core business is anything to do with Indigenous culture, health, environment or the seafood industry then the Gimuy Fish Festival is your place for business. 20 stall spaces will be on offer and it is expected these places will go quick.

The Gimuy Fish Festival is excited to bring back the Goopi Gourmet Kids Cook-Off!
Marion from Modern Pantry Kids Cooking Classes will be teaching kids how to whip up some delicious and healthy recipes including local ingredients and native foods. Sustainable bamboo straws provided by Yourstraw.
